Why pair sports and music? Because both are art forms, and both have the power to affect millions of people at once. I enjoy playing just about any and all sports, including (perhaps especially) those concocted by or with friends. My passions, however, lie with college basketball (I never played, but have avidly followed since age 5) and tennis (which I was once quite good at, but now don't play nearly as often as I'd like).
Then of course there's music. Growing up I was surrounded by classical music - Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Brahms, etc. - and our house had a baby grand piano, a cello, and an upright bass, so naturally I took up the drums. On the bright side, my parents were kind enough to put up with the cacophony long enough for me to become decent enough to produce actual rhythms.
